Glen Chemicals Limited and its' employees are committed to
respecting each customer's personal information, and we require
suppliers and anyone acting on our behalf to adhere to our privacy
policy when dealing with Glen Chemicals Limited business.
Customer profiles collected by our organization may include names and
titles of corporate officers and or/owners, banking information, and
credit references. This information is usually obtained through a
completed Credit Application and is used to set up a customer account
and determine credit eligibility. Purchase and payment history, recorded
by our computer system from day-to-day business transactions, is used by
our company for accounting functions and to assess the suitability of
products.
We may receive requests from third parties to provide them with customer
information that would include purchase and payment history. In most
cases, the customer has provided our name to a potential supplier as a
credit reference in order to set up an account with them. We will
respond to written requests for this information as quickly as possible
and no longer than 30 days from receipt of the request. A listing will
be kept of organizations and individuals with whom personal information
was shared. Customers who do not wish their information disclosed for
these purposes may opt-out by advising us in writing.
It is the responsibility of our Privacy Officer to safeguard all
customer personal information as required by the federal Personal
Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Complaints
regarding responses to requests or improper collection, use, disclosure
or retention of personal information should be directed to the Privacy
Officer at Glen Chemicals Limited and/or the Office of the Privacy
Commissioner of Canada.
